    You can also use CR123 non rechargeable. Obviously then you don’t use the magnetic charger.

    Where can I get good steel to try to make a knife with? Also, I would like to make a leather covering as a handle and I’m wondering how you would go about doing that?

    All of the knife shop in Sakai they sell the cheap knife or just highend knife?because when i buy japanese knife i just focus for hard use model like normal handle and no stainless clad blade.

    What confuses me is that dialux black is (according to the manufacturer) for silver. Is this something that concerns us using it for leather tools, as these are made from steel?

    It's painful to watch this, especially towards the end of the video, in the absence of cardboard for frozen pizza.🤔🤡🤯...! Any explanation or ecological approach to the alleged recycling of pizza packaging is unacceptable..!!!

  • @robertljekaj6970
    @robertljekaj6970 Місяць тому

    This is pathetic to say the least...I wouldn't embarrass myself with using frozen pizza cartons..!? Is cardboard so expensive? In paper shops, the A2 format costs approx. 0.20 cents/Eur. If it's a test on youtube..🤔 for a non-transparent promotional video for the Chartermade brand in question..! This is more of an insult to "Chartermade" than to the D2 steel itself...🤡🤯😔

  • @robertljekaj6970
    @robertljekaj6970 Місяць тому

    A really unrealistic and non-objective amateur test...! What are these inadequate tests for, except to fulfill some personal ignorant adventures or promotional videos..!!🤔? I can understand the leaning of D2 steel, which I personally deeply appreciate...! This is an inconsistent test..because the correct conditions are not applied...The cardboard is not of equal length and the screws are not properly, uniform..!? Somewhere the pressure is higher, and somewhere much lower..!!! Chartermade is a very good brand, but in this particular case, it is overrated and unobjective..!? D2 is a steel with almost a hundred years of tradition, it was created for the needs of the US war industry, one of the oldest semi-stainless steels in general.. D2 is not completely stainless, it has to be cleaned every now and then and a little oiled.!

    So I guess the jokes on everyone because if you search "dye leather soy sauce" there's a whole bunch of things that say it's true and most link this video. I think this video has outlived its comedic value and maybe it's time to let it go.

    Honestly you didn't need such a long explanation. Anyone who has tried cutting both ways will automatically see the results. If you use it the wrong way your cuts will be terrible.

    Hi..... I studied at Cordwainers College many years ago and was introduced to the folk at Batchelors by my tutor. It was the go to place for us students at the time, couldn't believe how friendly and helpful they were.....it was like going back in time. The good news is that it hasn't changed at all. Always my go to place for all my leather and fittings..... please never change guys cos you have seriously nailed it.....

    The height would also be an issue with me. I built my stamping table with a thick triangular top, with 90, 60 and 30 degree corners. The shortest side at 18 inches (roughly 46 cm). I then took 3 2x4 pieces, bolted together in a triangle shape, and set them in the center, at the perfect height to pull over my knees when seated in my work chair. The triangular leg has stabilizers at the bottom, and the 3 2x4s form a very solid pedestal to absorb the vibration from hammer blows to the surface. I can slide leather items over the corners to support working on one side of an item, instead of trying to flatten the piece out on a tabletop. I can punch holes, set rivets, set pricking irons, with my metal anvil plate, or cutting board surface, placed in the center of the triangle, over the leg. It is big enough to hold my 24 by 18 cutting mat, if I need to cut out smaller pieces. It is absolutely, the best thing I have ever made from scratch! I think I am going to steal an idea from your punching block, and screw leather straps around the leg for holding my hammers, as well. I don't have as many (or as nice of hammers as you do), but that idea is golden!

    Put the strop into a strong plastic bag / ziplock, if you don't want compounds getting on your tools. You can even rubberband a bag around the handle too.
